Welcome back! Good to see you again.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y460, to be released at the same time as its 15-inch sibling, breaks quite a few barriers in the consumer laptop market. If you are looking for high-tech, high-performance, and low cost, then this Lenovo laptop is for you!

Lenovo’s new RapidDrive technology – when combined with its Windows 7 Enhanced Experience – creates unprecedented reductions in both startup and shutdown times, while the IdeaPad Y460 continues to surpass multimedia and graphic barriers. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 will have a starting price of about $799 so users can expect a lot for their money.

Power and Speed

Powered by either a high-end Intel Core 2 Duo or the new Intel Core i7 processors and up to 8GB of RAM, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 is, as can be expected from Lenovo, a very powerful machine. But when you add in the new RapidDrive system that the company has developed – which uses a combination of solid state and disc hard drives – you get an increasingly fast machine as well. As mentioned previously, the machine will also feature Microsoft Windows 7.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 – A True Entertainment Machine

In what can only be called the latest manifestation of Lenovo’s pursuit in developing true entertainment machines, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 has a 14-inch, high-definition 16:9 display which brings new life to your favorite movies and games.

The colors, sharpness and lag-less motion will blow your mind. And if that isn’t enough, there’s still an integrated webcam on top so you can enjoy great conversation with friends as though you’re both in the same room.

Since the IdeaPad Y460 is a replacement machine to the Lenovo IdeaPad Y450, it shouldn’t be surprising that the controls are virtually identical. There’s a solid keyboard that has a good layout that allows for comfortable typing and the large TouchPad is sensitive, as are the two selection buttons.

Connect with the World

For connecting to the rest of the world, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 comes with integrated WiFi and Ethernet cards. Should you want more versatility and mobility, you can opt also for a mobile broadband card.

A 5-in-1 media card reader, three USB ports, HDMI/VGA outputs, and an integrated DVD-R/Blu-Ray optical drive are just some of the many ways that the IdeaPad Y460 can connect to the rest of the world. Users may also opt for a Bluetooth chip if they want to make use of wireless peripherals.

Equipped with Life

Though the IdeaPad Y460 is not available for purchase yet, it is safe to say that it will be equipped with a six-cell Lithium Ion battery much like the other Y-series machines. With a slightly stronger thirst for power, the battery will most likely power the machine for at least five or six hours on a single charge.

The Y460 will feature the same alloy frame as other Lenovo machines, which provides for an extra degree of rigidity and durability. The case will feature the same glossy designs as other Y-series laptops, which is a good thing, since the design is one of the most distinguishing and well received changes to Lenovo’s consumer machines.
